Today, nothing interesting happened, nothing like the "Paper Wars". The sport day thing started today but my events are tomorrow.
We did some science in the morning before heading off for the first time to the air-conditioned science laboratory. We got to play with dead leaves, Bunsen burners and alcohol!
After that we rushed off to recess. The queues today were "record-breakingly" long. I didn't even bother to eat anything. During assembly, Mr Hon had a dialog with us on the extra recess issue. Not exactly the most interesting assembly but okay.
Then Mr Krison's lesson till 12.40, yay! Followed by music then freedom. Finally most of us went home(some later than others) and probably added the finishing touches on their presentation

Mr. Krison was staring, full and ready
And he stomped into the class, totally boiling
As his face black as thunder, found Zi Yang crying

While Mr. Krison took a gulp from his bottle
Thus he turned around, and reprimanded Zi Yang for it
And he asked Edward Chow Jun Mun not to sit

Sorry, for the late post because of a bad internet connection which has still not really been fixed yet, but at least good enough to post. Ok, lets get down to my reflections...
That day was just like any ordinary day, flag-raising followed by the collection of newspaper for reading period. Now, in my perspective, this is what happened in class during reading period. We started our reading period as per normal but soon, some people (including me), started to get bored of reading the chinese papers. So, Andre rolled his newspaper into a ball and started throwing it at Bo Wei which hit him on the head. This is when the 'paper war' started.
Somehow, somebody threw a newspaper (which was not rolled into a ball) which landed at the feet of Zi Yang. I beckoned for him to pass me that newspaper and when I got my hands on it, I decided to throw it away. As Nicholas would put it, a not yet rolled up newspaper would not go as far when thrown as compared to a rolled up newspaper ball. Therefore, when I threw the newspaper, it did not go to where I intended it to go, but instead, landed on Jia Hao's desk and probably gently hit Leslie's arm because he was turned around to talk or look at the commotion happening at the other side. (Shan Yao, Ryan)
I apologised to Leslie for probably hitting him on his arm lightly. Then Shan Yao threw a newspaper ball at Jia Hao, hitting Jia Hao on his back. Jia Hao did not know who threw that at that time, I presume, thus he blamed Zi Yang for it. Zi Yang who actually did not do anything wrong was blamed. And just like any other person who had been blamed, he shifted the blame to me.
Obviously, I would not let people just accuse me of something I did not do, so I argued back and tried to prove my innocence. Then, just when our argument barely started, Zi Yang threw a newspaper ball at my head, which hurt, because it was within such close proximity. Of course, I became angry and wanted to retaliate. I took the newspaper ball and threw it back at him. However, just before I threw, I thought of the consequences if I ever hit Zi Yang and that it would also mean that I was guilty. I just wanted to give Zi Yang a scare, thus, I controlled myself and threw the ball hard at the locker next to Zi Yang. Next, I took the newspaper from his desk and slammed it on his table instead of what I originally planned to do (whack him HARD).
Soon Mr. Krison came in and stopped the argument and changed our seating arrangements. I must say sorry to all for creating such a din and I want to thank James, Wei Heng and all the others that tried to stop the arguement. Though I must say that what Jia Hao was angry about was not about the newspaper that gently touched him but rathar the ball that hit him on the back. And If I were the one that threw the newspaper ball that hit Jia Hao on his back, then how could I have also hit Leslie who was at his seat? ALSO, how could I have hit Jia Hao when the newspaper I threw was not rolled up, but the one that hit Jia Hao is rolled up? Is it not simple logic?
Anyways I think that Zi Yang should not have got so angry and lost his temper and used violence to retaliate. Use words instead of violence. I am at wrong for also losing my temper and attempting to scare Zi Yang. Sorry to anyone for offending you in anyway and for creating such a
racket in class.

Hi. This is my reflection on the incident that took place this tuesday. Sorry about the late post, but better late than never!
Ok, the incident more or less started because Ryan and Shan Yao were throwing some balls of news paper around. Others who got hit also joined in and all that. That's not important.
I feel that such things should never happen ever again. Why cause disharmony in the class because of a childish little game or throwing newspaper balls around? Because of this incident, our class is further divided, though that is inevitable, we should try to understand each other and improve our class spirit. After all, we would be together for 2 years. Obviously, we would want to have good experiences of working together with our classmates.
I'm sure that we are all very dissapointed. We, students of Hwa Chong.....expected to be the future leaders of Singapore.....getting into fights and destroying the class spirit and our relationships with one another....because of newspaper balls? That's quite lame.
1) Zi Yang seems to think everyone has got it wrong, and he seems to have a personal vendetta against me and Andika and basically everyone whose post do not agree with his version of the story. And his post seem to be flaming me, Edward, Andika, and the aformentioned "basically everyone whose post do not agree with his version of the story"
2) Mr. Krison said "The trouble perpetrators; Shan Yao and Ryan, and to a lesser degree, Zi Yang and Edward". I beg to differ. In my opinion, even though Shan Yao and Ryan may have been the root of the problem, Zi Yang and Edward caused the "eruption". Shan Yao and Ryan were wrong, sure, but I feel that Zi Yang was wrong to explode like that too.Shan Yao and Ryan, in my opinion, were not as much to blame, except for the fact of starting it all. They could have been dealt with quietly, without all the hullabaloo caused by Zi Yang's needless explosion. I feel that he needs to try and restrain himself at times. If he did not throw the paper ball, why get so enraged about it? He should just have explained it nicely to Jia Hao, and leave the decision up to Jia Hao whether to believe him or not.I is Zi Yang's fault for exploding and yelling at Edward. Edward also should have controlled himself more, but the level of control to me, compared to Zi Yang's, was remarkable.Zi Yang hurled the piece of paper at Edward, but Edward did not respond in kind.I'm sorry, but I think Zi Yang and Edward are as guilty as Shan Yao and Ryan.
Yours respectfully
,Samuel Dalby, from as unbiased a view as possible
from my perspective, this was what happened
1.ryan and shan yao were playing with the newspapers.
2.zi yang looked like he was falling asleep so someone threw a newspaper at him.
3.shan yao threw a newspaper at jia hao.
4.zi yang and edward started arguing.
5.Mr. kirson came in.

This incident happened yesterday, 25th of March.
The day started like any other ordinary day. No one would now that such an incident would actually happen. After the flag raising, we all went back to class and I went to collect the newspaper. Reading period started and I started reading the newspaper.
The first thing related to this incident that I saw was Ryan and Shan Yao tossing a paper ball made from the newspaper at each other. I also saw Han Yi throwing one of the paper ball away, but I think they made another one.
Trouble came when someone threw the paper ball and hit Jia Hao. He immediately looked at Zi Yang and thought it was him who threw the paper ball at him. Jia Hao was accusing Zi Yang of throwing the paper ball at him but Zi Yang said that it was Edward who did it. Thus the war began.
Zi Yang and Edward started arguing and at first I thought it would end like any argument, saying sorry, forgive and forget, but it obviously did not end that way. There was a lot of shouting and then Mr Krison came into the classroom. (Phew!) There was a lot more shouting and then, Mr Krison found the root of the problem, Ryan and Shan Yao. He then rearranged our seats to try to make sure this would not happen again.
I think we should not have sat there and did nothing. We should have gone and try to stop the argument before it got worse. Another way is to just say sorry , forgive and forget. This way, the misunderstandings would not lead to any hostilities.
-Jun Hong
as far as i noticed it seems to happen like this:
1. Ryan and Shan yao were tossing a catsclassified newspaper "ball" around(more like a folded up piece)
2. um i think shanyao was throwing to ryan but missed and landed where yongming was(the back row in the middle)
3. yongming tossed it back? (needs clarification)
4. repeat 1-3 but instead it landed on me
5. i got pissed and i tossed it to ziyang and i told him to throw it away (as in on the shelf)
6 onwards i don't know what happened, i was reading :) (ithink another "ball" was created though)
anyway someone seemed to have thrown it at jiahao, causing jiahao to accuse ziyang, but then ziyang said that it was edward but edward said that he didn't throw it at jiahao. ?_?
anyway we shouldn't be blaming each other as if we had the courage to throw something at somebody we should also be brave enough to admit our mistakes, and the rest of us shouldn't be watching either, we should be doing something to stop them >.<
zanipeo272/JeffREy(not JeffERy)

Started of as a normal day, ended with uncontrollable anger. Why?
I must say, the only thing unusual that happened on that morning was that Wei Heng mysteriously 'declared' that he had SARS, other than that,

all was normal. Even as we walked back to class, I caught a glimpse of Edward and Zi Yang talking and laughing (not together though).
The war started off as something to pass time for Shan Yao and Ryan, and I regret that even though I was between the two, I was not able to stop it in time. After Han Yi and I 'confiscated' a few paper ammo from the two, we thought the problem was solved and continued reading our papers. The events that happened after that did nothing but prove us wrong-Screams and shouts rang out in the class just a few minutes after that, from the other side of the class. Personally, I do not know who, or what started the fire, only to hear later that Shan Yao was the one who threw it over.
The screaming and shouting continued as Mr Krison stepped into the class, after mysteriously appearing at the windows. He solved the problem quite fast, we got a change of seats, and we got on with the lessons.
This whole episode could have been avoided. If either Edward or Zi Yang could have been like what Jesus said in the Bible :"Forgive not 7 times, but 77 times 7 times." Which means that you forgive no matter how many wrongdoings your neighbour commits, we would have had a peaceful reading peroid.
I would also like to appologise on behalf of the CMC, we promise that if such a incident ever happens again, we would do out best to solve it, and not just 袖手旁观.
Wai Lun
Sec 1O
It was a disappointing scene that I witness today in class.
To start off on the issue of courage, the power invested in the CMC to take charge of the class on behalf of the teachers was not applied nor exercised with courage. I would like that all CMC to display more moral courage in your action rather than just speech. It is only through your action that separate the leaders from the mass. As for the rest of the class, not one person stood up to take responsibility of being a sideline observer without taking any preventive measure for the escalation of the spat.
Next, the absence of dignity during the squabble. The trouble perpetrators; Shan Yao and Ryan, and to a lesser degree, Zi Yang and Edward, these people failed to show any dignity in restraining their selfish impulses, childishness and uncontrollable anger. Shan Yao and Ryan permitted the escalation of the quarrel by not clarifying the situation for Zi Yang and Edward. Both of Shan Yao and Ryan are the root of the problem and contributed entirely to the intensification of the already negative situation.
Lastly, would it be too much to determine that Sec 1O is a loveless class; a pack of cannibalistic

predators, a pack of hounds? From this incident, it is evident that there is no evidence to indicate otherwise.
From this incident, would Sec 1O learn to be more courageous, dignified and loving? Would you be a class that I am proud of? Or a class that I would rather not be associated with?
I leave the decision to you.
OKOK LET ME CONFIRM WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BEFORE I FOUGHT WITH EDWARD!
Common sense says that how can shan yao throw a ball at jiahao and hit him to make him think it hit me????? shan yao and me are on OPPOSITE SIDES OF JH!!!!
JH now confirmed with me on MSN there are 2 balls which hit him. the one that he looked at me for was thrown by edward ( again, i have to force myself to say, edward DID NOT know he hit jiahao. ) so in other words it was started by ryan who threw at me. for the details of todays event: these are the ones you can closely refer to for info---
Andre's view from the other side ( HE HAS THE MOST NUMBER OF THINGS CORRECT!!!cause i'm a multi tasker i can guess and infer from what happened from what i guess. I didn't see andre's post when i posted mine so i guessed correctly. shan yao after that threw the ball at me but missed and it wnet under my table.)
My post.
Edwards post when it comes out. I think he didn't know he hit jiahao but i saw it clearly from my view I SWEAR!!!
1. Please make sure you read ALL the reflections and not just one ( most of you only bother to read the one at the top )
2. If you got any comments or questions to ask post them in the blank post i posted. I'm sure after reading all the posts some of you have quesitons or comments to ask. If you think i'm too naughty to be able to post such a formal post just treat it like it was posted by some ousider.
Today, many things happened. One of the most significant of things was the "newspaper war" that happened during Reading Period. Reading Period started normally. When Daniel brought the newspapers up, Jun Hong went to give them to everyone. As soon as the newspapers were given out, we went to read the newspaper. Somehow, as it was a Chinese Newspaper today, many people were not reading their newspapers as attentively as they should be. Apparently, a "newspaper war" was started. I did not realized that such a thing happened until Edward and Zi Yang shouted at each other.
What most probably happened was that Shan Yao and Ryan was bored and started throwing newspapers at each other. When they were playing, a newspaper seemed to have hit Jia Hao. Jia Hao, thinking it was Zi Yang who threw the newspaper at him, looked at Zi Yang. Zi Yang, who was threatened by the look, most probably thought that Edward threw the newspaper at Jia Hao and Jia Hao thought it was Zi Yang that did so. Thus, a mistunderstanding between Zi Yang and Edward sparked off. Edward and Zi Yang quarelled and this was when I knew about this incident happening.
After that, as both of them sat down, Edward seemed to have noticed Mr. Krison standing at the other side of the window observing the incident. Edward then complained and told Mr. Krison on the incident that happened. Mr. Krison then came in and both Edward and Zi Yang, trying to prove that they were not the one who started the incident by throwing the newspaper, stood up and ranted at each other. Both of them started crying and both of them looked like they wanted to fight each other. They looked very furious and scary too. After Mr. Krison understood what had happened, both of them finally understood that a misunderstanding had sparked off this incident. Then, because of this incident, we changed our seating arrangement.
I personally feel that this incident happened in a moment of rashness and fury. However, I believe this incident will remain as a incident not to be forgotten in our hearts and because of this fight, 1O will get bonded more together and be more united.
Loh Sheng Hng
Dear classmates,
I'm sorry about what happened today. But in any case here's what i know happened. I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, this is what I know of that happened before i started arguing with Edward.
At first we came back from the morning period of assembly same as usual, came back to our temporaily class as in the past week. Then everyone do their own thing, JH bought a bunch of erasers to school to play eraser war. Then when the class came in was quite noisy so Wei Heng and James were trying their best to shut the class up. I felt very tired and irritated by the PE teacher who scolded me that morning for walking over a grass patch ( yes GRASS PATCH! ARGH! ) so i put my head on the table and lcosed my eyes. This one the people at the back row can confirm, Yong Jian and Yong Ming all laughed when they saw me [sleep]. Then fastforwarding, A paper 'ball' ( it was the classified newspaper crudely folded up ) hit me. I didn't know who was it but i knew it came from Shan Yao's area so i threw the ball back there and hit Ryan's head. Then i thought k liaoz go back to [sleep] then the ball flew back and landed under the table near my legs [ i think thats shan yao, but i'm not sure ] Edward sitting in front of me motioned me to pass the ball to him so i kicked it to him under the table and he took it and tossed it. It hit Jiahao on the back of his head. Maybe it was because he couldn't see or somthing, but all i know is, the ball that hit Jiahao was DEFINITELY thrown by Edward. I think he didn't see cause he immediately turned his head back to normal, like as if he wasn't involved. Jiahao who got hit looked at me and said something ( refer to his blog post ) cause he thought i was the one who threw the ball ( we had been throwing eraser blobs at each other last time ) then I felt pissed off. The afterwards you all should know. Edward stuck to his point that he didn't throw it. I know most of you believe him lar, i'm such an idiotic fatass blahblahblah no one will believe my word over edwards. So then the rest of the class erupted into chaos, some of them saying i'm blahblahblah whatshits Edward started tearing up and I tossed the ball in his face and he became mad. Pecially daubly and andika, both of them dun like me immediately htink i'm in the wrong. Daubly and his usual phrase on me (shuttup you *********** ) Edward kept asking Jiahao the ball wasn't thrown by him right jiahao dunno so he kept quiet and then Mr krison came along and started dealing out punishment ( me first of cource he thought i started trouble again and said come with him after school to call my parents and I was angry cause I wasn't even doing anything bad at the start until they dragged me in.
The rest you all should know. I'll take this chance to make my reflection and apologise to Edward for hitting him. I know he must stilll be mad with me now but maybe he didn't know he hit JH so I'm sorry for hitting him without any valid reason in his point of view.
I'm sorry to everyone for having to change seats thanks to this incident which left everyone feeling a little muddled and unhappy.
P.S Keith doens't seem veyr happy about the new seatign arrangement. For his sake Mr krison can you change his seat to sumwhere else or leave my side blank or else he'll start complaining about me for disturbing him. T.T XD *.* -.- =.= Once again, sorry everyone.
It all happened during reading period. Ok, I was not very sure what really happened (was too engrossed with an arcticle on a praying dog...) or how the commotion got from the left side of the class to the right, but I do know that Shan Yao and Ryan started it, not Zi Yang and Edward.
I was reading the newspapers and it was very quiet. Then I heard some noises from Ryan's row. I did not really care as I thought that they were just chit-chatting. Then everything heated up. Zi Yang and Edward started to throw newspaper balls and shouting at each other. The more they argued, the more enraged both of them got. Then they were screaming their lungs out and you could see that they wanted to beat each other up. Luckily the bell rang and Mr Krison came in to stop them from thrashing it out.
I feel that Zi Yang and Edward should not have argued with each other. They should be finding out what happened first, this whole episode could have been avoided as this was a complete misunderstanding. Even if one of them threw the newspaper, the other party should keep his cool to prevent furthur escalation.
If I could rewind this incident, I would approach Edward and take him to a a corner for time-out. This would allow him to calm down and give him time to think through. And I am quite sure this episode would be alot more calm than what had happened today.
Mr Krison has segregrated us so as to prevent any of these conflicts to happen again. I feel that he need not resort to this if all of us play our part and be responsible for our own actions.

Hi all,
Sorry for the late post. Below is a parody (or poem, if you would like to put it) of "The Ultimate Showdown" which is basically a summerisation of what (I think) happened on 25/3/2008, including my reflections. Kudos to Yong Jian who thought of the idea of making parodies. :)
The 1o Newspaper fight:

After this incident, I felt that
what Shan Yao and Ryan did was very bad
and it was because of them, thus
there was a misunderstanding which must
never happen again, which resulted in these
and shouting and hollering, which would NEVER please
So oh my foes and ah my friends
do NOT ever plot evil plans... ...
<>
~THE END~
...Sorry for the incomplete parody, but I do not have enough brainpower/time to complete the parody. I know the song requires 12 more lines, but... (maybe Yong Jian can complete the parody for me) I really apologize as I got to do my hwk now. And, all in all, I feel that ALL of us were responsible for the incident, as we all did not do our best to stop Shan Yao and Ryan, and to clear the misunderstanding between Zi Yang and Edward. In the future, I suggest that the moniter/chairman/someone responsible should "invigilate" the class during the reading period, and stop any mischief. For Zi Yang, I feel that he should not anyhow "bu fen qing how zao bai" and without any reason shout at someone/making someone a scapegoat. He should talk things out with the person (this applies for Edward too) and solve things in a more gentlemanly behavior. As for me, I feel that I should pay more attention to my surroundings as I only realised that something was wrong when Mr. Krison stepped into the classroom! I also should not "Xiu Shou Pang Guan", but I should have stopped them along with the others.
I am sorry, Mr. Krison, for not helping to stop the fight, and I promise not to ever repeat such a silly error in the future.
-Nicholas Ng Yu Heng (19)
Ooooh, what am I going to write for my reflections? I did not realise that there was this "paper war" happening in class, until the part where Edward started screaming (no offense). Apparently, there was this bit of rift-raft in between them about hitting Jia Hao on the back of the head, though Jia Hao claims that nothing hit him back then, saying that it was Shan Yao that got hit.
That all stopped when Mr. Krison appeared mysteriously. Then the explaining part came, Edward and Zi Yang went into a furious exchange of words, with Zi Yang saying at one point :" If you don't like me, then kill me lah!!!" Very inappropriate, I might add.
You must, by now, be screaming, Wei Dong! This is not supposed to be an entry telling about the day's incident! This is a reflection! Well, I will get to that shortly, first, I will explain how I interpret what happened. Shan Yao threw a piece of paper at ryan, which started a flurry of paper being thrown about. The, somehow, Edward got hit. Thinking that it was Zi Yang who threw it, he started throwing back. This caused another "war". They were like a barrel of oil, ready to be sparked aflame. That came when one of the loose flying paper hit somebody, Zi Yang thinking that it was Jia Hao. This caused edward to be Upset and they scold each other.
This reflection will come in three parts : one, what I think the people in the class should have done. Two, what ithink i should have done. Three, my take on this incident. Firstly, I think the CMC should have been more proactive, Wei Heng was right bside the two opposing "parties" consisting of one person each, why did he not take any action against their fighting? James was right in front of them, sure he could have heard them, but did try to stop them? Nooooo, he did not. But I must praise him for one thing though, he and Daniel called for sillence while Edward and Zi Yang where having their "debate" (very fierce they were). What I think people should have done should have done. Andre, was he not sitting beside Ryan, could he have stopped Ryan from throwing paper at Shan Yao? Hello, this was during the reading period, not an archery lesson. The class as a whole should not as Mr. Krison said :" xiu shou pang guan". What I gather is that many of them were gossiping.
Okay, I cannot " look at the speck that is in my brother's eye, but not notice the log that is in my own eye. " as said in the bible. I admit, during the period of "war" I was talking to Nicholas about duelmasters. I should have read the newspaper and not speak, maybe if I had done that, I may have found out about the fight and maybe do something.
All in all, I conclude that we were unable to keep the reading decorum during reading period. This incident if it had been nipped in the bud, but we had let it grow and it had become a nip in the bud.
Adieu,
Low Wei Dong
"It knows when war is coming because it decides when war is coming."-Warlord Ailzonius
O_o the start of today wad quite interesting as my watch was 10 min late so in the end i chased the 157 bus n CAUGHT it XD!!! When i came to sch, everything was common, ppl playing worms, a new sTuDy gRoUp... =.= and many others, until after flag raising where Wai Lun said that Wei Heng gt SARS as he was feverish -.-
okok so when we came back to class, we just gt our newspapers, i started reading it, while sometimes whispering to Leslie n somehow we played erasers without getting caught by Mr Krison!! =X oopps... after that we continued reading the newspapers~ after abt 5 min i saw something happening at the corner of my eye <.< ryan n andre were folding a paper classifieds and they were giggling and laughing?!!? after that i just saw them flinging the huge ball ( i tink to matthew) but it hit bowei =.= therefore Han Yi took the ball n threw it XD so i thought this was the end of the chronicle. However...
After looking, i went back to reading the newspapers and playing erasers( =X again) with Leslie and Andika. We were having "fun" untill i heard a hubbaloo(<< izit spelled rite?) but ignored it... UNTIL a big fat ball hit me on the back
[#-(]:OWWWW(lol)
thats wad i felt at 1st. after that i turned at Zi Yang and told him: " Do you know how pain izit? DO you want me to THROW IT AT YOU!??!!??" basically THAT sentence pissed him off, because it wasnt him.. and i started thinking like that was because of my past actions: I kept threwing erasers at Zi Yang so he threw it back, therefore i just jumped to conclusions and scolded him... After that Shan YAo came and apologized to me =) and consoled me, however it was too late. Zi Yang was angry and therefore scolded Edward, was he was the closest " prankster" as i presume, and they both started arguing. first it was just arguing, after that they started sreaming at each other. After that Edward in his fits of anger, tried to throw the ball at Zi Yang, however controlled his actions and slammed it down on his table instead. This is gd as in my primary school, when turn realli angry, i cant controlo myself and go 'crazy' whacking ppl here n there... after that mr krison solved everything and changed our seats.. i was emo dmged after the incident...
To Edward and Zi Yang: I'm so sorry because i started EVERYTHING. really. EVErythiNG. if my conscious was there and i did not threw the eraser at Zi Yang, i would not suspect him immediately. I also should not jump to conclusions as to blame somebody without evidence.. T_T i am realli so sorry all as one of my actions hav caused a misunderstanding and i BIG commotion. pls Zi Yang and Edward pls patch up as i dont want you to be de-friended becasue of me T.T ok? u can bash me up 4 all i care just patch up =). Lets just say thaqt we should save the trees and nt waste paper blablabla u gt the flow.. ok? so next time dont throw paper around the class. To Andika alone..: ok there is NOTHING wrong in ppl crying. REALLI. NTH wrong. dont u hav emos? hav some feelings ok? even i cried as i cause this huge misunderstanding. ok?
Hope everything ends well =D,

Ok, so today we had this "paper war" in our class during reading period so this was basically what was going on(i'm putting my thoughts etc. at the end):
So reading period began like normal, we got our chinese newspapers and began reading. Then out of the blue, Shan Yao "threw"(Shan Yao claims it was a pass...i'm not sure) a folded piece of newspaper at Ryan and Ryan thought he was throwing at him. So Ryan just chucked it back and the "paper war" began. For some weird reason, Ryan threw the paper at me and i just chucked it into matthew(i thought it was him...sorry matthew, then i was COMPLETELY left out of this "war"). I also saw Han Yi and Wai Lun trying to throw away the newspaper and James telling everyone to keep quiet. Someone then threw it at Zi Yang(i think it missed), So it became a "three-way war", though i don't think its Zi Yang's fault...he was innocent like me. So then Shan Yao threw a piece of paper in Zi Yang's direction, but he hit Jiahao instead. Jiahao then began glaring at Zi Yang(i think Jiahao thought it was Zi Yang), and Zi Yang started blaming Edward(another innocent guy). So Edward and Zi Yang began shouting(not really sure, didn't want to get involved).
In the end, Mr Krison came and cleared all the miunderstanding and he changed our seating arragement.
Reflections: I think Daniel, and Keith should have tried to keep order in the class(i think Wei Heng tried to make everyone keep quiet, didn't hear). Ryan and Shan Yao are the people to blame, not Zi Yang, Edward. We should also not push blame to others and admit to our mistake. The next time this occurs, i will attempt to do something about it, not just sit at the side watching the "show" like i did.

Well, yesterday was violence in Literature, today is violence in reality! It really was like a guy playing chess one day, and his moves were very violent, and the next day you see the opponent going violent and furious and messed up the whole chessboard. Well, that's what happened. The whole class was jumbled up (seats rearranged).
What happened was, during reading period, a folded newspaper came flying and landed in between Bo Wei and me (lucky it did not hit any one of us). I don't know where it came from, and so I picked it up and handed it to Bo Wei. Who knows, the folded newspaper went flying to the back of the class again, and again, I have no idea who did it. Then it came, once again, and hit me on the back. I grabbed hold of it, and recycled it. Later Wai Lun, sitting behind me, got hold of another one and recycled it too. We tried to stop them, but to no avail.
Then, I have no idea what happened, but according to my classmates the "fight" spread to the rest of the class. Then, Jia Hao was hit on the back by the folded newspaper, and accused Zi Yang for doing it. Zi Yang pushed the blame to Edward, and they had a quarrel. It was, sure enough, VIOLENT.
Well, Mr Krison saved the day, as usual. After Zi Yang's "presentation" of his tantrum-throwing, the violence stopped between Zi Yang and Edward. And yes, both were crying.
The root of the problem was revealed, with Ryan and Shan Yao being the "culprit". I don't know what they have gotten for this, but it wouldn't be anything good.
Well, this will be a lesson for us. We, as classmates, should take the responsibility to stop this from carrying on. Unfortunately, this was not done to our fullest potential.
Let us all be responsible for this.

Today, the day started as usual, with morning assembly and such. The only special(yet disturbing) incident was today's "Newspaper War"......
I think it happened like this,i was not sure because i wasn't really paying attention to them until jiahao got hit by a newspaper ball till he looked like he was in a lot of pain.According to Andre, Ryan and Shan Yao started throwing newspaper at each other(for don't know what reason), and one stray paper ball flew to Jiahao's back. After a very "scary" glare from Jiahao, Zi Yang knew that Jiahao was assuming that he had threw it. Then he started blaming Edward, threw a paper ball at him as a result of his anger, then edward argued back. Shortly after, they started screaming at each other!Edward took one paper ball, and threw it at Zi Yang, but i think he was controlling himself not to hit Zi Yang as the paper ball went zooming past Zi Yang and into the lockers, making a loud noise. He took up a newspaper set on Zi Yang's table, and proceeded to raise up his hand to whack Zi Yang, but in the end he also only slammed it down onto Zi Yang's table. And Zi Yang actually said that Edward hit him with the newspaper to Mr Krison!I think he was just trying to shift the blame to Edward. Because of that, I asked Zi Yang to calm down, what did i get? I got LOTS of LOUD comments from Zi Yang...Felt a bit of angry then and left them all alone.
I think a short while before that i heard Shan Yao confessing that he threw the paper ball at Jiahao, and Jiahao also tried to tell Zi Yang that it was Shan Yao who did it too, and that the misunderstanding is cleared. But Zi Yang did not even listen and continued to accused Edward, that was when i tried to calm Zi Yang down, and got screamed at for it.
After a while, when i turned around again, both of them were crying. Wow.I think that Ryan and Shan Yao were the root of this problem, and they deserved punishment for it. I also want to say that Zi Yang is simply stubborn and is a person who likes to accuse people without finding out the truth. Edward was right in holding back the desire to whack Zi Yang, he was just trying to clear his own name only.Zi Yang should improve on his calmness.
I think that me and everyone else was partially in the wrong in the sense that we did not stop Edward, Zi Yang, Ryan and Shan Yao in time to prevent this incident. If I had told Zi Yang the truth before he flares up, he MIGHT have calmed down. But then again, who can stop Zi Yang ones he becomes like that?he would start crying and then shout at people. I think by then his mind would have been clouded in anger, making him unable to think properly.I hope that this would be a lesson to everyone of us.
Sorry if i have offended anyone at all.I would like to inform everyone that these are my personal thoughts, anyone offended do know that it was unintended/unintentional.
Thank You.

We were reading in relative quiet until a "paper war" started. The fight started in somewhere our class calls "Bangladesh" [no offense meant, its just what we call it... there's a "Siberia" too...] but spread to the center section of the class. One of our classmates, Jia Hao, was hit by a paper ball thrown by Shan Yao {citation/clarification needed} but the victim assumed that it was Zi Yang, another classmate.
Zi Yang blamed Edward, and the two started yelling and pushing the blame back and forth. At that moment some people seemed to "wake up" to the fact that something abnormal was going on. Only Nicholas and Dexing continued to live in blissful ignorance that something big was going on.
Some tried to stop it, but others watched on, unsure whether they should help or, as our teacher put it, "xiu shou pang guan"
So then Mr. Krison came in. When he tried to settle things, they escalated and Zi Yang was screaming inarticulately. I remember him saying something like : "Since you don't like me, kill me!!!" {citation/clarification needed}
So after all that mess, our seating arrangements were changed for damage reduction.
I think we should have tried to stop them from fighting, as we all have a rsponsiblitly to our class
Dear (your name here)
Hi again. I think that I am the first one to post... Nevermind. I will just start with the reflections.
I will start with a summary of what happened that eventful day. During reading period, everything was fine...then it happened. Ryan folded the Cats Classified (my favourite section) and threw it at San Yao. San Yao threw back. Ryan threw it back again but it hit Bo Wei. Then, I was not so sure of what happened. But somehow, the newspapers hit Edward or Zi Yang. Then, that person misunderstood the other person and a battle broke out...I am sure all of you know what happened so I will not elaborate on it.
Anyway, I feel that what happened today was pretty childish. We are Hwa Chong pupils and should not behave like a bunch of barbarians. Edward and Zi Yang were literally trying to force each other to believe what they did was right and that they did not do anything wrong. Instead of doing this, they should discuss calmly so as to have a better understanding of what happened. This would prevent any conflicts from happening. I feel that this is one of the reason why there are wars in our world.
The CMC and all other students did not stop them (except for some) probably because they do not want to get involved. This is similar to another situation. For example, if country X and country Y get are having war, other countries will not do much to stop them. This is because they do not want their people to die from the war. This situation applies to what happened today. We are afraid that we might get injured trying to stop them.
Instead of trying to stop them ourselves, I feel that we should approach a teacher for help. The root of the problem is that Ryan keep playing with the newspaper. So, I suggest that Mr Krison should implement a rule to prevent students from playing during reading period.
Anyway, everybody are wrong in a way. I just hope that such an incident would not occur again.
Regards,
Leslie Tan Zheng Yu
Today, a simple newspaper caused the argument of two people.-Edward and Zi Yang-
What started as playfulness of Ryan and Shan Yao, who were throwing newspaper at each other, escalated into a argument between Edward and Zi Yang. It started like this -1. Shan Yao and Ryan throw newspapers at each other.2. Ryan throws the newspaper at Zi Yang3. Zi Yang throws it back4. Shan Yao throws it at Zi Yang but hits Jia Hao5. Jia Hao looks at Zi Yang6. Zi Yang gets angry and throws another piece at Edward7. Edward get angry and throws it back8. Mr Krison comes into class and both of them start shouting and cryingEdwardAngry that Zi Yang threw the newspaper at him for no reasonZi YangThought that Jia Hao was blaming him when Jia Hao looked at him.(which is not surprising considering Zi Yang's regular treatment of him.)MeI should not have stood by and be a bystander. I had no idea that Shan Yao and Ryan throwing newspapers at each other would have caused hurt to Edward and Zi Yang. This incident would not have happened if one of the two things happened-1.Shan Yao and Ryan stopped before anything happened2.Zi Yang not get so easily agitated and blaming Edward or vice versaHowever this was not the case. As seen last term, Zi Yang requires very little provocation to flare
up. Venting his frustration on anything in his rage (including class doors).
What I should have done:
I should have stop Shan Yao and Ryan, therefore not giving Zi Yang the chance to lose his temper.
Basically
Zi Yang was angry for no/little reason(is someone looking at you reason to lose your temper?), took it out on Edward and Edward retaliated.
